Frequently Asked Questions

What  type of items can be printed
...?
A  wide assortmentof materials such as  (but not limited to) plastic, metal, wood, glass, ceramic, etc. can be  printed. Southern Draw would like to help you decorate anything from  fishing rods to pottery.  We are ideal for both the outdoorsman and the decorator.   We welcome the opportunity to work with interior decorators.  Our services are available for the professional, corporate client, and  individuals.  Let your imagination   run wild and call us with your ideas.

How  long does the process take?
Southern Draw would like for our customers to allow 4 weeks to process an order.  That amount of time is  needed in order to give each and every customer the highest quality workmanship. However, many orders do not  require this much time.  If at anytime we feel it may take longer you will be notified prior to starting work.

Is the finish durable...?
Yes,
Southern Draw uses the highest grade materials in every step of our  process.  Our base coatings are  specifically designed for use in water transfer printing applications and all items receive a clear coat in a flat, matte, or gloss finish after printing.  The clear coats used are the same high grade coating used in  automotive painting.

Is this the process different from the process manufacturers use to decorate their  products?
The process is exactly the same as manufacturers use to coat their products.

Can we change the color of a pattern...?
Yes,
the base tone on most patterns can be changed to achieve a wide variety of different appearances.  This is one of the factors that enable water transfer printing to be the ultimate custom process. Some licenced patterns require us to use a standardized base tone due to licensing egulations. Please call for more information or to ask about your specific needs.

Will the print fade?
Each part of a project that is dipped is clear coated with the highest quality  materials to maximize UV protection, which protects our prints from fading.

Can dipped items be pressure washed?
It is extremely important to wash your dipped items by hand for the first month. To offer maximum durability, the clear coat must fully cure
during this time. After the clear coat has cured you may wash your dipped items  with a pressure washer or by another method. All parts dipped by Southern Draw  will be returned to you with instructions for proper care.

Do we need to bring in or send our parts disassembled...?
Please  send only the parts of the item you would like printed, those particular parts  have to be completely disassembled.  Items do not have to be new.  However, all parts of an item should be clean.  If you have any questions  regarding what condition your item should be in please contact us for  directions. Southern Draw cannot be responsible for the disassembly or  re-assembly of your product.
